With the recent February snowfall, mountain retreats are in high demand, leading to projected delays in travel to and from the mountain areas. Here are some essential tips to ensure a seamless weekend trip:
1. Secure your lift tickets, lessons, rentals, parking, and/or tubing slots in advance to ensure guaranteed access.
2. Plan to leave the beach cities exceptionally early, allocating at least 4 hours for driving, parking, and shuttle transportation.
2. Approach your arrival with an open mind, acknowledging that it will be exceptionally busy.

Snow Chains/Cables
It's advisable to have snow traction devices in your vehicle due to unpredictable weather changes.
With winter weather in the forecast from Sunday (Feb. 18) through Monday (Feb. 19), CalTrans may or may not be mandating snow chains/cables on all 2WD. Not required for 4WD or AWD, but highly recommended. Give yourself an extra 3 hours more-than-usual travel time. Expect heavy delays.
Please be aware that we are unable to predict or anticipate CalTrans enforcement actions. Our recommendation is to be prepared for any possible scenarios.

Upper Lot Paid Parking
An upper lot parking fee will be in effect Presidents' Weekend, February 16-19. All upper lot reserved spots must be booked online in advance and will sell out. You cannot purchase a spot onsite.
Anyone that does not have a reserved parking spot will head straight to the offsite lots* for free parking. Please give yourself at least 2 hours to get to the parking lots, park, and shuttle in. With the holiday rush, expect extreme delays.
*Offsite lots offered at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain only. Once Snow Valley's parking lot of filled, there will be no accommodations.

Tube Parks Open Daily
Looking for an outdoor activity this winter that’s fun for the whole family? Check out Snow Valley's Coyote Creek Tube Park and Snow Summit's Grizzly Ridge Tube Park and experience the thrill of gliding down the hill in a controlled environment in one of our snow tubes.
The tube parks are open daily. Skip the hiking and take a magic carpet to the top of the Tube Park, then slide down as fast as you can in one of our high-speed snow tubes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Snow Play area at Snow Valley is not be open Friday-Monday this holiday weekend.

Night Sessions
Whether you want to extend your ski day, or simply enjoy the adventure of riding under the stars, join us for Night Sessions from 3PM-8:30PM at Snow Summit.

Pass Holder Access
No blackout dates for Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Snow Valley Anytime Pass, or BBMR Anytime/Midweek Pass at Big Bear Mountain Resort during the holidays.
The 23/24 BBMR Midweek Pass is valid for lift access Monday-Friday only + any nights with Night Session (yes, that's including Saturdays and Sundays!).

Intermountain Shuttle
The Intermountain Shuttle is complimentary and will take riders to/from Snow Summit/Bear Mountain. Since your lift ticket and season passes work at both resorts for same-day use, hop on the shuttle to experience both mountains in one day. During Presidents' Weekend, the hours will be extended to:

USASA Slalom/Giant Slalom
The United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) is a California based NFP that is represented by 32 regional series across the USA. Team Bear will be competing in the Slalom/Giant Slalom at Bear Mountain, Monday, February 19, 2024 (Presidents' Day).
